Ford Scorpion 6.7L Diesel V8
After 27 years working with Navistar, ford has decided to move into producing their own diesel powerhouses. This is believed to be due to an ongoing legal battle between the two companies over warranty and cost issues related to the old 6.0L V8 Power Stroke. Ford’s new design named Scorpion is a 6.7L diesel v8 engine that is expected to crank out 390 horsepower and 720 lb.-ft. torque over the current powerstroke’s 350 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. torque. With the new engine fuel economy is supposed to rise by only 3mpg. It is expected to use the same six-speed automatic that is currently in the 2009 Ford F-150.
